I thought they sucked; complete poseurs. Listen to the music was vomit, China Grove was vomit, Long train Running was crapola. I don't think they have any reason to be ashamed, but to call them one of the best live bands ever should be a reason to be drug tested.

So, like, who was it who brought up the phrase "one of the best live-bands ever"? Oh, yeah - that was you. An inability to read simple English is better cause for drug testting than musical tastes, if you ask me.

The Doobie Brothers [current]Live Lineup Is (in alphabetical order):
Guy Allison - Keyboards/Vocals
Michael Hossack - Drums
Tom Johnston - Vocals/Guitar
John McFee - Guitar/Strings/Vocals
Marc Russo - Saxophones
Pat Simmons - Vocals/Guitar
Skylark - Bass/Vocals
Ed Toth - Drums

I like some of the McFee/Johnston material (and I'm not taking any drug tests unless graded on a curve) and might, just might, catch them when they come around (if there's not a new edition of the office on that night - had to get in carrell reference (and yes, I appreciate the original Gervais version).)

Where do you get one of the best live bands ever out of one of the best live bands I saw in the late 70's...sometimes it's a good idea to think before you type.

Sometimes you need a reality check . They were shit then and they are probably worse now, if possible. Don't get your panties in a twist.

I don't hate the Doobie Brothers, far from it. I just think they sucked. They are not the worst band out there but you give them way too much credit.
Skunk Baxter is a pretty good guitar player but the band as a whole were rubbish.

The idea that you think the doobie brothers suck is obviously just a matter of your opinion. The fact that you misinterpeted simple English is reality.... So are you saying I gave you a reality check?

Your welcome.

Hey LA Women -

Thanks for jumping in on this thread. In my opinion it is people like old achyballs who are exactly what is wrong with 21st century communication. I call it the O'Reilly Factor: 1) first you jump in with both feet and say the most obnoxious, insulting and demeaning thing you can think of whether it has any bearing on the topic or not, then 2) when someone calls you on your ignorant BS, just call 'em a pussy for caring about prissy little things like "facts" and "objective reality." You can't win an argument with an ego-mad creature like this, but I appreciate you trying. Peace out to you.

Your welcome should have been you're welcome. Strike two.
The Doobie Brothers are no more than a glorified wedding reception band. They sucked then and probably still suck.

I may need a reality check, but not from you.
